For MacBook Air models older than 2022

On some MacBook Air models from before 2022, the edge of the laptop has a slightly different shape, so your ChronoPad® may not sit perfectly straight away. This guide walks you through a clean fit, including how to trim the edge if you need to.

Step 1

Clean your MacBook

Make sure the palm rest is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, and fingerprints. Wipe the area where the ChronoPad® will sit with a soft, dry cloth. Never apply the ChronoPad® to a wet, dusty, or oily surface.

Step 2

Check the fit and trim if needed

Before peeling anything, place the ChronoPad® loosely on the palm rest to check how it sits. If the edge does not line up neatly on your older model, follow the marked cutting line and carefully trim the edge with scissors. Only cut along the line, and only remove what you need. Do not cut into the main surface. Then test the fit again.

Step 3

Peel off the backing

Once you are happy with the fit, peel the protective backing from the adhesive side. Try not to touch the adhesive, so it bonds evenly.

Step 4

Place and press

Line up the top edge with the palm rest and lower the ChronoPad® into place. Start from one side, keep it straight, and smooth it across to avoid bubbles. Press firmly over the full surface so the adhesive bonds properly.

Step 5

Enjoy a scratch-free MacBook

That is it. Rest your wrist, keep your watch on, and type as normal. Your ChronoPad® now protects the palm rest from bracelet scuffs while you work. To keep the bond strong, avoid removing or repositioning it straight after applying.
